Implementation of CDC

Community Dental Centers

Indian Dental Association (IDA) has embarked on a national, community-based, grass root level health initiative, by setting up Community Dental Centers which can be a fixed dental chair or mobile\ portable dental set ups to provide preventive dental care to rural \ under-served population.

Community Dental Centers need to have the support of local health departments, local community clinics, NGOs, and schools, among other organizations. These relationships can help CDC to:

  • Identify appropriate program partners and volunteers;
  • Identify individuals who are in need of services and conduct effective outreach;
  • Understand the barriers to oral healthcare and devise solutions for a favorable outcome;
  • Leverage resources at the fullest.
